Staind Push Forward With New Single “Ghosts”
By Jett Morales

Staind are moving again.
The band has released a new single, “Ghosts,” through Alchemy Recordings/BMG, according to Blabbermouth. It marks Staind’s first new music drop since their 2023 album “Confessions Of The Fallen.”
That alone makes it worth paying attention. Staind are not just dusting off the old machinery and calling it a day. “Ghosts” arrives as the first sign of the band’s recent recording work with producer Erik Ron, according to Kerrang!. Ron’s credits include Godsmack, Bad Omens and Papa Roach, which tells you the band did not exactly wander into a room looking for soft edges.
What Staind are saying about “Ghosts”
Guitarist Mike Mushok told Kerrang! that “Ghosts ended up being a very dynamic song.”
That word matters here. Staind have always been at their strongest when the tension is doing some real work — the pull between weight, restraint, melody and that slow-burn pressure they know how to build. “Dynamic” is not just studio talk. For this band, it is basically the job description.
Frontman Aaron Lewis also told Kerrang!, “It’s got some heavy elements, but it’s certainly melodic too.”
That is the Staind pocket. Not just volume for the sake of volume. Not just gloom parked in one gear. The band’s biggest moments have usually come when the heavy stuff and the melodic stuff are staring each other down in the same room.
Why this one lands now
Per Revolver, Staind released “Ghosts” while preparing to close out the fall leg of the “Break the Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour.”
That timing is sharp. On one side, the band is tied to a major anniversary run. On the other, “Ghosts” points forward. That is the balance veteran rock bands have to hit if they want to stay alive in the room: respect the records that built the house, then put something new through the speakers.
“Ghosts” being the first new music since “Confessions Of The Fallen” also keeps the 2023 comeback thread from going cold. Instead of leaving that album as a standalone return, Staind are putting another marker down.
The bigger signal
The key piece here is that Kerrang! called “Ghosts” the first fruit of Staind’s recording work with Erik Ron. That wording leaves the door open in the way fans care about most: this may not be a one-off blast from the bunker.
For now, there is a new Staind single in the world, and it is built around the mix fans expect from them — heavy elements, melody, and the kind of tension that does not need to shout every second to hit hard.
