Roger Taylor Speaks Out on Politics and Global Concerns Ahead of New Solo Album

By Website Content Manager

We live on an incredible planet — let’s not ruin it.

Roger Taylor has unveiled plans for his latest solo project, Violence Insane In A Beautiful World, which is scheduled for release on September 18 through Columbia Records.

The album marks Taylor’s first solo effort since 2021’s Outsider. Although it is not a traditional concept album, the collection is united by a central message about humanity’s relationship with the world and the challenges facing society today.

Discussing the inspiration behind the record, Taylor expressed concern over the growing levels of conflict, division, and environmental damage he sees around the globe. While acknowledging the beauty of the planet, he emphasized the importance of protecting it and treating one another with greater compassion. He pointed to issues such as war, pollution, and intolerance as examples of problems that continue to threaten both people and the environment.

The album’s lead single, Come On Summer (It’s Party Time), has already been released and features contributions from the Ndlovu Youth Choir from Limpopo, South Africa.

Another key track, A Beautiful World, helped inspire the album’s cover artwork, which features an image of Earth viewed from space. Taylor explained that the song is written from the perspective of an extraterrestrial observer looking down on the planet. Initially captivated by Earth’s beauty, the narrator gradually notices its flaws, including violence, conflict, and other human-made problems, while also recognizing the many positive qualities that make the world worth celebrating.

Although the album ultimately carries an optimistic message about appreciating and preserving the planet, Taylor has admitted that he remains concerned about current global events and political developments. His new music reflects both admiration for the world’s beauty and frustration over the issues he believes continue to endanger it.

Through Violence Insane In A Beautiful World, Taylor aims to encourage reflection on humanity’s choices while reminding listeners that kindness, understanding, and responsibility remain essential in preserving the world for future generations.
