Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell enjoyed an unexpected heavy-metal night out in the Hamptons.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, the 83-year-old Beatle and his wife of 14 years were spotted in Amagansett, N.Y., attending an intimate Metallica concert at the Stephen Talkhouse — a cozy venue with room for only about 250 guests. The special performance, produced by SiriusXM, marked the launch of the band’s new channel, Maximum Metallica.
The couple were photographed outside the venue alongside a star-studded crowd that included Michael J. Fox, Sylvester Stallone, Andy Cohen, Colin Jost, Heidi Gardner, Ed Burns, and Maria Menounos.
The outing held an added touch of nostalgia for McCartney and Shevell, whose romance began in the Hamptons. The two were first linked in 2007 after being spotted kissing on a Long Island beach, later becoming engaged and marrying in 2011.
Earlier this year, McCartney offered rare insight into their relationship in a blog post, sharing how the couple enjoys everyday routines together. “We chat and catch up with each other. We eat lunch or dinner — any meal really, as we love cooking,” he wrote. “Sometimes we’ll watch something on TV together, and I always read before bed, usually a biography, while Nancy finishes watching a series. We’re pretty much like any other normal couple!”
In a 2023 post on his website, McCartney reflected further on his marriage, noting how important it is for him to be supportive. “I try to be helpful as a husband,” he said at the time. “If there’s a problem, I like to be the guy who lends some strength to it. I’m always happy to be the person Nancy relies on, and to be her strength when she goes through tough times.”
