Metallica to Play One of Their Most Intimate Shows Yet for Just 250 Fans This Month — With Tickets Up for Grabs
By Website Content Manager
The heavy metal giants are set to perform their smallest show in decades on August 28.
SiriusXM will launch a dedicated Metallica station later this month, coinciding with one of the band’s smallest shows in decades.
The Maximum Metallica channel will debut on SiriusXM channel 42 and the SiriusXM app at 12 p.m. ET on August 29 — the day after the intimate 250-capacity performance at Stephen Talkhouse.
A live recording of the rare gig will air on Maximum Metallica on September 1 at 12 p.m. ET, with repeat broadcasts throughout the week. The show will also be featured on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM channel, Howard 101, on September 5 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
According to SiriusXM, the channel will deliver “the most Metallica anywhere,” featuring the band’s biggest hits, deep cuts, concert recordings, and behind-the-scenes content. Stephen Talkhouse has hosted similar high-profile performances in the past from artists including Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, The Killers, and Mumford & Sons.
This special Stephen Talkhouse concert will be Metallica’s only North American appearance for now. The band’s schedule picks back up in November with dates in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, followed by a European tour starting in May.
Select dates on Metallica’s upcoming European trek will feature the return of their popular M72 Weekends setup, in which the band plays two shows at the same venue with completely different setlists and opening acts. Across the double-night stops, support will come from Pantera, Avatar, Gojira, and Knocked Loose.
