Actors Pedro Pascal and Adam Scott will also be honoured with stars on Hollywood Boulevard next year.
Alternative music will have a strong presence on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2027, with Linkin Park, The Smashing Pumpkins and the Ramones among the artists selected to receive stars.
The three influential bands are part of a 32-person class being honoured next year in various categories. In the Recording category, they will be joined by artists including David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Sia, Grandmaster Flash, Marc Shaiman and Karol G.
The 2027 honourees also include a number of prominent figures from film. Actors Elle and Dakota Fanning, Kate Hudson, Idris Elba, Delroy Lindo and Sam Rockwell are among those being recognised, as is Netflix chief executive Ted Sarandos. Comedy team Cheech & Chong will also receive recognition for their contributions to cinema.
Television honourees include Pedro Pascal, David Alan Grier, Adam Scott, Lisa Kudrow, Keke Palmer and Raven-Symoné. Presenter Jeff Probst and writer-producer Bill Lawrence are also included in the TV category.
Other stars will go to radio personality Charlamagne Tha God, comedian and actor Jo Koy, dancer Roberto Bolle and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger for Live Theatre/Live Performance. NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson will be recognised in Sports Entertainment.
Peter Roth, chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel, praised the incoming class for their influence and achievements, saying the 32 honourees had left a lasting impression on audiences worldwide through their talent and commitment.
For Linkin Park, the honour adds another milestone to an already remarkable career. The California rock group’s 2000 debut, Hybrid Theory, has sold more than 32 million copies worldwide and earned the band Grammy Awards in 2002 and 2006.
The group went on hiatus following the 2017 death of frontman Chester Bennington. Linkin Park eventually returned in 2024 with Emily Armstrong taking over vocal duties and released their comeback album, From Zero, that same year.
Their upcoming star will place Linkin Park among a relatively small group of hard rock and metal artists recognised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Kiss received a star in 1999, followed by Ozzy Osbourne in 2002, Alice Cooper in 2003, Mötley Crüe in 2006 and Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash in 2012. Def Leppard was added to the landmark in 2025.
The Smashing Pumpkins are also being honoured after decades of success. Formed in Chicago in 1988, the band has sold more than 30 million albums around the world and earned two Grammy Awards. Fronted by singer and guitarist Billy Corgan, the group remains active in both touring and recording, with its latest album, Aghori Mhori Mei, arriving in 2024.
The Ramones, meanwhile, are being recognised for their enormous influence on punk rock. Formed in New York City in 1974, the band released its self-titled debut two years later. The album eventually achieved Gold certification from the RIAA and became a foundational release for punk, influencing groups such as the Sex Pistols and The Clash.
The Ramones broke up in 1996. Tommy Ramone, the band’s final surviving member who had performed on the debut album, died in 2014 at age 65.
Their influence continues to be felt decades later, including through Green Day, the pop-punk group heavily inspired by the Ramones. Green Day received its own Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2025.
