Lindsey Buckingham Teases Possible New Collaboration With Stevie Nicks

By Website Content Manager

Whether It’s a Fleetwood Mac Reunion or New Buckingham Nicks Music, Fans Will Take It

The complicated history between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks may be entering a more positive chapter, with Buckingham suggesting that the former Fleetwood Mac bandmates could have something in the works.

Buckingham and Nicks, who were once romantically involved, have had a strained relationship for years. Their professional partnership came to an end after Buckingham was dismissed from Fleetwood Mac in 2018, followed by a legal dispute between the guitarist and the band that was eventually resolved outside of court.

However, Buckingham now says his relationship with Nicks has improved significantly. In a recent interview, he revealed that the two are communicating regularly and suggested that fans could learn more about their plans sometime next year.

The renewed relationship represents a notable change from recent years. Nicks said in 2024 that she had spoken with Buckingham only once since his departure from Fleetwood Mac, during a memorial service honoring Christine McVie, who died in 2022.

Signs of a reconciliation began appearing in late 2025, when Nicks revealed that she and Buckingham had been communicating in connection with a reissue of their pre-Fleetwood Mac record, Buckingham Nicks.

Earlier this year, Buckingham also spoke positively about their relationship, suggesting that work surrounding Buckingham Nicks had helped restore a sense of connection between the longtime musical partners.

Buckingham now credits the upcoming Apple TV documentary about Fleetwood Mac with helping bring about further healing. He explained that working on the documentary gave everyone involved an opportunity to revisit unresolved issues and move beyond the difficult period that followed his 2018 departure.

While Buckingham did not reveal exactly what he and Nicks may be planning, his comments have sparked speculation about several possibilities. The project could involve new music from the pair, a revival of their Buckingham Nicks partnership, or potentially even some form of Fleetwood Mac activity.

A reunion tour remains uncertain, particularly because Nicks has previously expressed reluctance about touring without Christine McVie. Buckingham, however, noted that Fleetwood Mac has successfully toured without McVie in the past and even released an album without her, pointing out that there is already precedent for the group continuing without its late keyboardist.

For now, Buckingham is keeping the details under wraps, but his comments suggest that his relationship with Nicks has reached a considerably healthier place—and that fans may have something significant to look forward to.
