Joe Perry Hints at Possible Final Aerosmith Show Following Abandoned Farewell Tour
After Aerosmith’s farewell tour came to a sudden stop in 2023, guitarist Joe Perry now says the band is discussing plans for a proper send-off.
The Peace Out tour was cut short just three shows in after frontman Steven Tyler suffered serious vocal cord damage. In 2024, the group announced they would no longer tour, citing doubts about Tyler’s ability to make a full recovery.
Since then, Perry and Tyler shared the stage at a charity performance earlier this year. While a full Aerosmith reunion was rumored for the event, it didn’t happen—but recent comments suggest the legendary rock band is thinking about how to say goodbye on their own terms.
Speaking to Trunk Nation, Perry shared, “We’re talking about it. I mean, there’s nothing officially on the calendar, but we’re all still here and doing well, so we’ll just have to see. I know there’s gotta be at least one more Aerosmith show. I’m just not looking forward to figuring out the set list for it.”
When asked if Tyler would be physically able to handle a full concert, Perry responded, “I think he would. It’s just a matter of getting there.”
Tyler recently made a surprise appearance in Birmingham, England, at the Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning celebration. He joined an all-star lineup that included Ronnie Wood, Nuno Bettencourt, Tom Morello, Andrew Watt, Rudy Sarzo, and Travis Barker.
Together, they performed The Train Kept A-Rollin’, followed by Walk This Way and Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love. Tyler’s return to the stage was praised in Metal Hammer’s event review, which called his performance “magic.”
