Jack Osbourne recently responded to criticism surrounding plans to create an AI version of his late father, Ozzy Osbourne. Speaking during a YouTube livestream on Friday, May 22, Jack assured fans that the project would be handled respectfully and with advanced technology.
The announcement first surfaced during the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 20, where Jack explained that the digital version of Ozzy would be designed to feel authentic rather than gimmicky. He emphasized that the process involves sophisticated technology and is far more advanced than simply connecting an image of Ozzy to AI software.
Jack also shared that he had discussed the concept with his father before Ozzy’s death in July 2025 at the age of 76. According to him, the rock legend supported the idea and would have appreciated the innovative direction of the project.
Alongside Sharon Osbourne, Jack revealed that the AI avatar could eventually allow “Digital Ozzy” to appear in commercials or other media through customizable prompts. He described the technology as highly realistic and said the digital version of Ozzy could continue to exist for generations.
The project is being developed by Hyperreal, a company known for using “digital DNA” technology to create lifelike virtual avatars.
