“It’s a surprise”: Bruce Springsteen reportedly has two new albums on the way

There’s exciting news for fans of “The Boss.”

Bruce Springsteen has revealed that fans may have two new albums to look forward to, with one already finished and another currently being developed.

The singer’s latest studio release, Only the Strong Survive, arrived in 2022 as his 21st studio album. However, in a recent conversation with Rolling Stone, the 76-year-old musician explained that he has been working on two separate projects.

Springsteen told writer Andy Greene that one of the albums has already been completed, while he is continuing to work on the other. He explained that the second project contains material that makes it feel more appropriate for release first. The completed album, meanwhile, is not tied to any particular moment and could be released whenever the time is right.

When Greene asked whether either project would be a solo effort or involve the E Street Band, Springsteen kept the details under wraps, simply responding, “It’s a surprise.”

The news comes shortly after Springsteen shared a 37-minute concert video filmed during the final night of the E Street Band’s Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour. The performance was recorded at Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena and was released on September 10.

Springsteen described the release as a celebration of the tour’s final American show, highlighting Philadelphia’s historical importance. He also said the tour gave the band an opportunity to perform across the country while publicly expressing their support for the US Constitution, Bill of Rights and democracy.

During his Rolling Stone interview, Springsteen was also questioned about his outspoken criticism of Donald Trump during his concerts and whether that could alienate fans who support the former president.

The musician made it clear that he has no intention of changing his approach simply to avoid upsetting part of his audience. He said that throughout his career, he has created the music he wanted to make before seeking out the people who connected with it. He viewed his recent shows in much the same way, explaining that the performance represented the story he wanted to tell.

Springsteen acknowledged that some audience members have strongly objected to the political content of his concerts, but said he was comfortable accepting that reaction.

Fans who want to see more from the Philadelphia performance will not have to wait forever. Three further videos covering the remainder of the concert are scheduled to be released before the close of 2026.
