Iron Maiden Featured on the Cover of the Latest Metal Hammer Issue
Iron Maiden fans have plenty to look forward to as the legendary metal band appears on the cover of the newest issue of Metal Hammer.
Ahead of Eddfest, the band’s 50th anniversary celebration at the iconic Knebworth venue, the magazine sits down with vocalist Bruce Dickinson and bassist/founding member Steve Harris to discuss the upcoming festival, the band’s legacy and what lies ahead. The issue also gives readers a closer look at some of Iron Maiden’s most famous stage items, props and memorabilia.
When asked why the band continues to maintain such a busy touring schedule, Dickinson explained that performing remains one of his greatest passions.
He shared that stepping onto the stage allows him to disconnect from everything else, describing the experience as a moment where he becomes completely immersed in the music. For him, losing himself in the songs and the energy of the performance is the main reason he continues to tour.
The issue also explores the early history of System of a Down, revealing stories from the band’s beginnings, including Serj Tankian’s first songwriting efforts, Daron Malakian’s unexpected interests and Shavo Odadjian’s early involvement before becoming a full-time member.
The magazine also marks the 20th anniversary of Bring Me The Horizon’s debut album Count Your Blessings, reflecting on how the record, despite receiving criticism from some metal fans at the time, became the starting point for the band’s major success.
Other features include a look inside Slipknot’s unreleased album “Look Outside Your Window,” recorded during the All Hope Is Gone era, as well as coverage of Blood4Blood, a unique event combining metal music and bare-knuckle fighting organized by Slaughter To Prevail’s Alex Terrible.
The issue also features interviews with Taylor Momsen about her journey from child actor to rock vocalist, the story behind nu-metal track “Nothing,” and Blaze Bayley answering fan questions about fantasy themes and the possibility of performing with Iron Maiden again.
Additional highlights include former Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz introducing her new project Blue Medusa, along with a feature examining Dimmu Borgir’s rise as one of black metal’s most influential and debated bands.
The issue also includes coverage of As Everything Unfolds, Hawxx, Sonic Temple Festival, Desertfest, Warning, Devildriver, Quicksand, Karnivool, Frozen Soul, Hashtronaut and many more.
