Hayley Williams of Paramore will be featured on the upcoming album by Failure, often hailed as one of the best alt-rock bands that didn’t receive the recognition they deserved.

The band’s seventh studio album, Location Lost, is scheduled for release in April.

Failure, the cult Los Angeles alt-rock trio, have announced their first new album since 2021. Their seventh studio record, Location Lost, is set to drop on April 24 via Failure Records, and it will feature a guest appearance by Hayley Williams of Paramore.

The band has already released the lead single, The Air’s On Fire, and revealed that the second track, The Rising Skyline, will include vocals from Williams, a longtime fan of the group. Press materials note that her public admiration has helped introduce Failure to a new generation of listeners. In February 2025, Williams joined frontman Ken Andrews at an L.A. benefit gig to perform Failure’s 1996 song Daylight as well as Björk’s All Is Full of Love. Later that year, she appeared in Every Time You Lose Your Mind, a Hulu and Disney+ documentary celebrating the band, alongside musicians like Maynard James Keenan and Troy Sanders.

Failure, formed in 1990, gained a devoted cult following with their critically acclaimed 1996 album Fantastic Planet, whose single Stuck On You reached number 23 on the US Alternative Rock chart. The band broke up in 1997 but reunited in 2014. In 2017, Vessel called Fantastic Planet his favorite 90s album, describing it as “devastatingly bleak in a way that resonates into our deepest self.”

Alongside Location Lost, Failure will embark on a headline US tour, starting in Los Angeles on April 21. Tickets and presale access are available through the band’s official website.
