The country music singer previously joined Guns N’ Roses as an opening act during their 2023 tour.
Carrie Underwood reunited with Guns N’ Roses for a surprise appearance during the band’s latest concert in Atlanta.
The country superstar took the stage with the legendary rock group on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Truist Park, joining them for performances of two of their best-known songs, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City.”
Videos recorded by concertgoers and shared on YouTube captured Underwood delivering the powerful rock vocals during “Paradise City.” The 43-year-old singer performed in a lace bodysuit paired with leopard-print shorts as she joined the band onstage.
In another clip from the concert, Underwood could be seen moving along to the music while singing alongside Guns N’ Roses during “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”
The singer later took to Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 20, to share her excitement about the performance. Along with several photos from the show, Underwood thanked the band for inviting her to perform and praised them for their kindness.
She also expressed her appreciation to Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Slash, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Isaac Carpenter and the rest of the Guns N’ Roses team for welcoming her back onstage.
TMZ previously reported that Rose has been offering Underwood guidance as she explores rock music. PEOPLE reportedly reached out to a Guns N’ Roses representative for comment, but no response had been received at the time of publication.
This was not Underwood’s first time sharing the stage with Guns N’ Roses. She previously served as an opening act for the band during their 2023 tour.
During that run of shows, Underwood incorporated several rock classics into her performances, including Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll,” Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” and Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades.”
A source previously told PEOPLE that Rose personally offered input on the songs Underwood selected for her set during the tour.
The musical connection between Underwood and Rose goes back even further. The pair first performed together at the 2022 Stagecoach festival, where they teamed up for “Paradise City” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” Underwood later reunited with Guns N’ Roses for those same songs in August 2023.
