Bruce Springsteen Wraps Record-Breaking Land of Hope and Dreams Tour in Milan

Bruce Springsteen officially closed the chapter on his monumental Land of Hope and Dreams Tour with a final performance at Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) on July 3. The show marked the conclusion of a massive 129-date global run that began in February 2023 with the legendary E Street Band—and now, final figures confirm it was the most successful tour of Springsteen’s long and celebrated career.

According to Billboard, the tour earned a staggering $730 million and sold over 4.9 million tickets worldwide, averaging $5.7 million per show. This massive gross more than doubles the earnings of Springsteen’s previous top-grossing tour, Wrecking Ball (2012–2013), which brought in $347 million.

The tour launched in Tampa, Florida, on February 1, 2023, but wasn’t without controversy. Fans voiced frustration over Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model, which saw some ticket prices soar to as much as $4,000–$5,000. Around the same time, longtime Springsteen fan publication Backstreets shut down after 43 years, citing disappointment with the ticketing approach. The magazine’s editor shared that the team felt “dispirited, downhearted, and, yes, disillusioned.”

Despite the backlash, Billboard’s analysis noted that average ticket prices rose from $115 in 2017 to $149 on this tour—a 29% increase that was still lower than typical hikes seen among similar stadium and legacy acts.

As Springsteen takes a break following the tour’s end, fans can immerse themselves in his latest archival release: Tracks II: The Lost Albums. The box set includes seven previously unreleased albums recorded between 1983 and 2018, featuring 74 never-before-heard tracks. Classic Rock magazine gave the collection a glowing five-star review, calling it “a breathtaking gift that Springsteen acolytes will cherish.”
