Billy Idol is set for a major moment of recognition as he prepares to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 American Music Awards.

On Thursday, May 14, CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced that the “White Wedding” rocker, 70, will be honored at the 52nd annual ceremony. In addition to the award, Idol will also take the stage for his first-ever AMAs performance, delivering a medley of his biggest hits.

The honor arrives shortly after Idol was also announced as a 2026 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, adding to a landmark year in his career.

In a statement, AMAs executive producers Barry Adelman and Alexi Mazareas praised Idol as “a true rock legend,” noting his lasting influence across generations and genres, as well as his “electrifying stage presence” and impact on popular culture.

The 2026 AMAs, hosted by Queen Latifah, will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25 at 8 p.m. ET, broadcasting on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

The ceremony will also feature other major honors and performances, including Karol G receiving the International Artist Award of Excellence, along with performances from Keith Urban, Riley Green, Sombr, Hootie & the Blowfish, KATSEYE, Maluma, Teddy Swims, and Twenty One Pilots.
