Aerosmith, Yungblud and Steve Martin Join Forces for a Banjo-Infused New Take on “My Only Angel”

Steve Martin brings a bluegrass-inspired touch to “My Only Angel,” the lead single from Aerosmith and Yungblud’s forthcoming One More Time EP, adding his signature banjo sound to the collaboration.

Aerosmith and Yungblud have unveiled a fresh take on their recent single, “My Only Angel,” this time with a bluegrass-inspired twist courtesy of Steve Martin. Dubbed the “Desert Road Version,” the updated track features Martin’s signature banjo playing, which he recorded remotely after being invited by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Originally released in September, “My Only Angel” marked Aerosmith’s first new music since their 2012 album Music from Another Dimension!. The collaboration came together after Yungblud and the band reimagined the singer’s nine-minute track “Hello Heaven, Hello,” an experience that led to a songwriting session and eventually the upcoming One More Time EP, scheduled for release on Nov. 21.

In addition to “My Only Angel,” the EP will feature three more collaborative songs—“Problems,” “Wild Woman,” and “A Thousand Days”—along with a newly remixed version of Aerosmith’s 1977 classic “Back In the Saddle.”

Meanwhile, Yungblud is wrapping up the European leg of his Idols World Tour. Following four performances in the United States next month, he’ll head to Australia before launching an extensive North American run after completing a series of UK shows in April.
